Christmas - What does it mean to YOU?

Nativity manger scene beautiful.bmp Pictures, Images and Photos

O morning stars! Together proclaim the holy birth,
And praises sing to God the King and peace to men on earth.
(O Little Town of Bethlehem)

Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

What does Christmas mean to you?
Is it a time of reflection of the sacrifice God made to give us Salvation?
Knowing that he gave us that which mattered most to him - and provided
a path to Righteousness and the Gift of Life through the death of Jesus -
God's Only Son and the Resurrection that wiped away Sin?

Did You Know?
Jesus, in Hebrew, means God is Salvation

John 1:14
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Jesus, called Immanuel, "God With Us"
was different from everyone's expectations.
Instead of judgement, He brought mercy and love.

Isaiah 60:1
Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.

Jesus - was and is that light,
Have YOU allowed HIM into the dark places of YOUR heart?

John 3:16
For God So Loved The World that HE gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in HIM
should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Nativity Collection by Robert J Morgan

Gather your family and experience the true spirit of love at Christmas
through this timeless gift of story.

The Nativity Collection was written by Pastor Robert J Morgan as a gift for his congregation.  1 story each year and this little book is a compilation of 6 of those stories.  You will find a story about a grandfather and his grandson who are trapped in a blizzard and trying to survive, there is also the story of Ollie, another of a family who's car (with it's food and presents) disappears on Christmas Eve and the lesson that is learned by this family.  The pictures in the book are beautiful and designed to draw your heart and mind toward Jesus, God's ultimate gift to us.

This book is ideal for families to read together and will be easiest for children 5/6 and up to understand and listen to.  Some of the stories will encourage questions & discussions (such as how would YOU feel if we had no presents on Christmas Day).  The pictures would be fun to recreate as a family art project or to make Christmas ornaments.

Suggested use:  Start reading 1 of the stories each night for the 6 nights before Christmas and on Christmas Day, after breakfast and before you open presents, read the Story of Christmas (Jesus' birth) from Luke 2.  Why?  Because our true focus on Christmas should be on Jesus.  Jesus is God's Ultimate Gift to us in the form of a baby which led to Salvation at the cross and being redeemed in the eyes of God through the resurrection.

You can purchase The Nativity Collection online at Amazon for $10.79.  You can click on the title of the book in this review to order if you'd like.  Thank You!
