Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball is the story of Cora and Simon. An old fashioned story living in the modern world. Two Christians celebrating Christmas in a slightly different way. The story opens with Cora, a new Christian, trying to live the "good" life, managing her life with strict rules of right and wrong, wondering why some families have it so good and why hers is so dysfunctional.
The story opens with Cora and Simon inadvertently meeting at the Warner, Werner, and Wizbotterdad’s bookstore on a little used snow covered street that no one seems to know is there. They each purchase a book and find a mysterious ticket to The Wizard's Ball.
I found the book enjoyable although the end of the book is predictable. It does approach the subject of the “Wizard’s” Ball from a Christian standpoint and while I didn’t have any issues with it being called that, some may. Really the only place a “wizard” is present is in the name of the ball and the fact that no one seems to see this little street that appears and where the ball, shops and characters of the ball take place.
