Counting the Days Until Christmas

This blog is all about getting ready for Christmas. Not just about what gifts to buy your relatives, or how to host a perfect holiday party, but the special, meaningful things that families may do together during the holiday season of Christmas.

What are some of your holiday traditions during the Christmas season? Do you count down the days with an Advent Calendar? Do you light an Advent Wreath each night? Do you set up a Nativity scene? And what special things do you do on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

Share your family traditions in the guestbook at the bottom of the page!

  1. Well our family is a little goofy so one thing we do is on Christmas Eve eve, yes, the night before Christmas Eve, we stay up late, go to Taco Bell then come home and watch A Christmas Story.
We watch A Christmas Story every year. We also play Dirty Santa with our family on Christmas Eve.

  3. Over from Friendly Friday Follow! My favorite Christmas tradition is the marathon cookie baking we do in the weeks building up to Christmas. There are so many cookies we ONLY bake at Christmas. We've been doing to for year. Yummy!

  4. What are some of your holiday traditions during the Christmas season? I make salt dough ornaments with my kids - we use them as gift tags for grand parents.
Do you count down the days with an Advent Calendar? Yes, the Advent calendar we use was one I made last year, it is Sants going down the chimney. Do you light an Advent Wreath each night? No.
Do you set up a Nativity scene? Yes. My Nativity Scene was a gift from my grandmother. It is made by a company in Italy who specializes in Church Statues. It also has a removable baby Jesus. Santa places baby Jesus in the manager when he brings presents.
And what special things do you do on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? We eat cheese cloud and mimosas!
